| Thallus epiphyllous, supracuticular, 5–15 (–20) mm wide, 8–15 µm thick, medium grey to greenish grey, with very numerous black low-verrucose c. 30–50 µm wide punctae; photobiont Phycopeltis; prothallus not apparent. Perithecia superficial, prominent, flattened-verrucose to ±conical, covered to the apex by a layer of thallus, 0.35–0.70 mm diam., greyish black. Perithecial apex ±rounded to subacute. Involucrellum black, carbonaceous, extending to exciple base level, 20–35 µm thick. Exciple hyaline to brown, 8–15 µm thick. Centrum 0.25–0.40 mm diam. Paraphyses simple. Asci elongate-cylindrical, 40–60 × 4.0–5.5 µm. Ascospores 1-septate, narrowly ellipsoidal to fusiform, uniseriate to subbiseriate in the ascus, constricted at the septum, 12–18 × 3.5–5.0 µm; cells occasionally separating outside the ascus. Conidiomata: 1) semi-immersed, verrucose, greyish black, 0.10–0.15 mm diam., containing simple bacilliform macroconidia 8–10 × 1.5–2.5 µm; 2) semi-immersed, greyish black, 0.07–0.10 mm diam., containing simple fusiform microconidia 3.0–4.5 × 1.0–1.5 µm. | ||
